Evangelist:
Ernie Perkins
Starting at the age of eleven, Ernie
Perkins has more than fifty-five years in the ministry. He served nineteen years
as the senior pastor of Southern Baptist churches, and
twenty-nine years as a denominational leader. As an evangelist, he has preached
almost eight hundred revivals. As a humorist, he has entertained over 650 times.
As an educator, he has three earned doctorates and teaches master and doctoral
level classes. As a conference speaker he has preached on numerous evangelism,
senior adult, and pastor conferences on the national, state and associational
levels. His wife, Wanda, ventriloquist and prayer warrior, travels with him when
possible.

Music Leader: Tommy Graham
At age 26 Tommy Graham
surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and soon felt God’s call to music ministry.
He has been a part time Music Director for the past 20 years in the Pee Dee
area. Tommy sings a variety of musical styles including traditional,
contemporary, and southern gospel. He has sung and played trumpet for many
special occasions including concerts, revivals, and weddings over the past 40
years.
In August 2002 Tommy surrendered
to God’s call to Music Evangelism and is actively seeking opportunities to
serve.
While earning a Bachelor of
Music degree at Coker College, Tommy was a soloist with the South Carolina
Philharmonic Orchestra, Charleston Symphony Orchestra, and Piedmont Chamber
Orchestra. He was featured as the bass soloist in The Creation by Haydn, Requiem
by Verdi, The Messiah by Handel, Dona Nobis Pachem by Vaughan Williams, Elijah
by Mendelssohn, and St Matthew’s Passion by Bach. He was a scholarship member
and soloist with the Hartsville Civic Chorale in their July 1994 European tour.
An enthusiastic reviewer proclaimed, “Bass, Tommy Graham most certainly
astonished everyone with his superb performance… What a talent this young man
has.”
Formally of Lake City, Tommy has
lived in Florence for the past 14 years. He is married to the former Sharon Lord
of Florence. They have three children, Trey, Shelley, and Brantley and two
grandchildren: Alex and Maddie. He teaches General Music, Chorus, and Band at
Briggs Elementary.

Prayer Walks
Community members are encouraged to
exercise their prayer life and their bodies at the same time by taking prayer
walks around the Hemingway Campground. The atmosphere is excellent for pouring
one's heart out to God in prayer while embracing God's wondrous creation. Please
remember to pray for our community, our churches, and the upcoming 2008
Hemingway Campmeeting. Saturday mornings are encouraged, but walkers are welcome
anytime. Bring a rock to leave at the cross as we create a prayer altar of
rocks.
